What is that CRACKING noise?! It’s actually a POP… not a Crack!!  It’s the release of a gas bubble between the joints, which makes a popping sound. The same thing occurs when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint, which results in the release of gas bubbles.

What type of education do chiropractic physicians have? Up to 4 years of pre-medical undergraduate college education must be accumulated which includes courses in biology, inorganic and organic chemistry, physics, psychology and related lab work prior to being accepted to chiropractic college.  Once accepted into an accredited chiropractic college, the requirements become even more demanding.  4-5 academic years of professional study are the standard. Doctors of Chiropractic (DC) are educated in orthopedics, neurology, physiology, human anatomy, clinical diagnosis including laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging, exercise, nutrition rehabilitation and more.

Because chiropractic care includes highly skilled manipulation/adjusting techniques, a significant portion of time is spent in clinical technique training to master these important manipulative procedures.

In total, the chiropractic college curriculum includes a minimum of 4,200 hours of classroom, laboratory and clinical experience.  Bet you never guessed all THAT!

Someone told me if I go to a chiropractor, I will have to go all the time and forever.  Is that true? No… the truth is that initially, you may have to participate in a treatment plan.  It’s likely that your condition didn’t happen over night and it’s not going to go away over night either.  You might require a number of visits. To be treated by a chiropractor, a patient needs come to the office. Look at it this way, you’re ill, you need antibiotics for 10 days, but you feel better on day 2… you still have to take all 10 days of medication.  Well, it’s the same thing… you might feel better on visit 2 but if your chiropractor recommends 8 visits or 10 visits, keep them.   There is a science behind your treatment plan and the necessity of visits your chiropractor recommends.  Sometimes a certain number of visits is necessary.  Your chiropractic physician should tell you the extent of treatment recommended and how long you can expect it to last.

I still have questions!  Now what?! Call us... 781-938-9400... we will be happy to answer them!
